Choosing The Wedding Ring For Your Wedding
What are the best kinds of wedding rings that a couple could look for? When it comes to wedding rings, its very important to note several several important details about its features. Popular wedding rings today are those made of precious metals such as gold, platinum, and white gold. Recently, however, several new wedding rings have been introduced into the market which are made from material other than from precious metals. These includes titanium and tungsten carbide. Precious Metals Precious metals have always been the traditional materials used for wedding rings. The most popular is gold. In the past, gold was the only metal used for wedding rings, simply because of its durability and long lasting luster. But this was until platinum was introduced into the market that provided more durability as well as luxury than that of gold. The only disadvantage is that platinum is too expensive, which is why an alternative has been manufactured with the same feature such as that of platinum. White gold, a combination of gold and one white element, became popular because of their luxury which is similar to that of platinum but cheaper. The only disadvantage of white gold is it looses its whiteness after years of wear. Gold has been known to cause skin irritation. And platinum, is also known to loose its whiteness, but in a much slower pace than that of white gold. Non-Precious Metals Non-precious metals have also been used in wedding rings. This includes titanium and tungsten carbide. Titanium has been known for its durability and strength. Compared to platinum, titanium is much stronger. It also possess a unique silvery luster which makes it popular as jewelry. The disadvantage of titanium is its lightweight. Although not a case for someone, light weight doesn't convey a sense of luxury. Tungsten carbide, like titanium, is durable and highly resistant to scratches. Some have even indicated that tungsten carbide rings are much more durable than that of titanium. The disadvantage of this is that when fractured, couples would have to replace it with a new one because tungsten carbide rings far too difficult to repair.
Currently, these are the kind of wedding rings popular in the market today. Although gold has been known to cause skin irritation, many still use it for their wedding rings. Platinum and white gold are still popular in weddings particularly because of the ring's luster. Titanium and tungsten carbide, however, are much more suited for the men because of its features and luster. Choosing between these wedding rings could be the hardest decision. But rest assured that with proper care and handling, these wedding rings could last for more than a life time. For more information visit to our site at http://philippineweddingplanner.com
