Human beings are social people and this means that they will always make friends at social gatherings. Everyone makes friends at different stages in life, some friendships last from childhood while others are formed in adulthood.

The word "friend" is so misused today that it has lost its true meaning.

I believe true friendship stands for sincerity, honesty, loyalty, respect, genuineness, humanity, responsibility, promise, noble, help, tears, sore, suggest, selfless, golden rule, patience, commitment, trust, communication, sharing, support, encouragement, kindness, availability, happiness, confidence and forgiveness.

Friendship is not just about having a good or fun time with others; friendship is the most important relationship in life and has a special place in a friend's heart to protect each other.

It doesn't matter who is your friend it counts what is inside and friends do not judge by wealth or position, true friendship is all about bonding of sincerity. Many people will walk in and out of your life, but only true friends leave footprints in your heart.

You can rely on friends but friendship can be tested during critical, frustrating and tough circumstances. Real friends always understand your problems and will stand next to you to support you emotionally when you are down. Good friends cry with you during bad times and keep soggy shoulders from your tears.

Friends must have common interests and fundamental understanding on values, beliefs, life-goals and belief in what you can offer as a friend. It is good to make new friends but don't forget to keep your old good friends. The best friends are not only who you are closer to you or the ones you spend most time with.

True friends are like a pillar of strength in your life and never go away when you need them most. Real friends will laugh "with" you and not "at you" and never say anything bad about you at your back. Real friends encourage you to achieve your goals and never feel jealousy on your success. They are always happy and proud to see you succeed.

Sometimes in life we lose someone who was very close to our heart but their memories always remain alive. Wherever good friends go they are always part of good or bad memories and days that they have spent together. Kind phone calls can be helpful but words are not enough.

Beware; friends know the most about you. It is heartbreaking when your friend becomes your worst enemy.

Good friends come to your party early to help you and stay late to clean. Good friends will always tell the truth and fulfil promises. Real friends believe in you when no one else believes in you.

Never hesitate to tell your good friends the truth. Always show kindness and respect to your friends and don't offend them or put them down deliberately.

True friends never share your information with others and never say anything about you which they cannot repeat face to face. Good friends won't let others say bad things about you until they have heard your realty.
